Sunny Updates from Brooks Estates!
Hello to our #BrooksEstatesCommunity,
The sun has been shining, and summer, along with the longest day of the year, is fast approaching! As nature bursts into life, it’s the perfect time to slow down, step outside, and connect with our beautiful surroundings. Please see below for updated from the Brooks Estates team and our partners!

Summer Buzz – Bees Still Hard at Work
While you enjoy the sunshine, our buzzing pollinator friends are still busy helping the natural world thrive. Here’s why bees are so important, even through the height of summer, they:
- Pollinate over 75% of flowering plants
- Support biodiversity and healthy ecosystems
- Help plants grow, improving air quality
- Produce honey and beeswax
- Support the food chain
How You Can Help the Pollinators
Whether you have a garden, balcony, or windowsill, you can support bees and other pollinators in meaningful ways:
- Plant bee-friendly flowers (they love lavender, foxglove, and wildflower mixes!)
- Avoid pesticides and harmful sprays
- Provide a shallow water dish with stones for bees to hydrate safely
- Let part of your garden or green space grow wild
- Support local beekeepers and conservation charities

Brooks Estates is Buzzing with Support!
Sustainability is in the details. We’re proud to include bee-friendly wildflower seeds in every resident welcome pack – and so far, we’ve sent out just under 2kg of seeds across our communities!
Carbon Literacy and Sustainability at Brooks Estates
We’re excited to share that two more members of the Brooks Estates team have recently received their Carbon Literate certificates.
As part of our pledge to reduce emissions, we’ve created a series of ‘how-to’ sustainability guides tailored for:
- Remote workers
- Office users
- Commercial landlords
- Residential landlords
- Homeowners
These guides cover a wide range of topics including energy-saving strategies, water conservation, waste reduction, and everyday sustainable living.
Looking to lower your carbon footprint or want some new ideas? Get in touch – we’re always happy to help.
Coming Soon: Your Resident Portal
We’ve been working behind the scenes to bring you a new Resident Portal – and we’re almost ready to launch. Stay tuned for more details on how you’ll be able to access everything you need in one easy place.
Partnership Spotlight
At Brooks Estates, we believe that community thrives when we work together. That’s why we proudly support and collaborate with a growing network of local organisations, charities, CICs, and businesses who are doing vital work across Cornwall. These partnerships reflect our commitment to sustainability, community wellbeing and education.

Waterhaul
Waterhaul transforms discarded ocean plastics into useful tools like litter pickers and sunglasses. Their work raises awareness about marine waste and the circular economy. Brooks Estates proudly supports Waterhaul’s mission to protect the coast and make environmental action accessible.
They’re currently launching their Ocean-Positive Litter Picker, made entirely from marine plastic collected in the UK and are hosting a beach cleaning event to do so!
Waterhaul’s Beach Cleaning Event:
Friday, 30th May, 11am-1pm at Watergate Bay.

This is a dog friendly beach and all equipment will be provided!
Cornwall Wildlife Trust
As one of Cornwall’s leading environmental charities, Cornwall Wildlife Trust works to protect Cornwall’s unique wildlife and wild places.
Their Beaver Guided Walks at Woodland Valley Farm are back and offer a firsthand look at nature-based solutions to flooding and biodiversity loss – a brilliant example of how humans and wildlife can thrive together.

We’re proud to support Kernow Conservation’s efforts to protect Cornwall’s rich biodiversity and make conservation more community-led and hands-on. Want to get involved? You can volunteer, support their projects, or learn more via their website.
Clean Cornwall
Clean Cornwall encourages individuals and groups to take pride in their communities by organising and supporting clean-ups across Cornwall. We are proud to promote their work and engage residents in keeping our local environments clean and beautiful.
You can register your own solo or group litter pick on their website, access resources, and track your impact!

St Petrocs
Our most recent partnership is with St Petrocs, a charity dedicated to ending homelessness in Cornwall by offering shelter, support, and dignity to those in need.
St Petrocs is not only focused on housing but also on building community, offering practical support, and providing pathways into stable futures.
